JB Metallurgical Standard Cylinder

The standard cylinder in hydraulic cylinder customization consists of a cylinder barrel, end cap, piston, piston rod, and seal:
1、 Cylinder barrel
The inner diameter of a customized hydraulic cylinder represents the output force of the cylinder. The piston should perform smooth reciprocating sliding inside the cylinder, and the surface roughness of the inner and outer surfaces of the cylinder should reach Ra0.8um. For steel cylinder barrels, the inner and outer surfaces should also be plated with hard chromium to reduce friction resistance and wear, and to avoid rusting. In addition to using high carbon steel pipes, high-strength aluminum alloy and brass are also used as raw materials for the cylinder. Small cylinders are equipped with stainless steel pipes. Cylinders with magnetic switches or cylinders used in corrosion-resistant environments should use materials such as stainless steel, aluminum alloy, or brass for the cylinder barrel.
2、 End cap
The customized end cap of the hydraulic cylinder is equipped with inlet and outlet ports, and some also have buffer mechanisms inside the end cap. There are sealing rings and dust rings on the end cover of the rod side to prevent air leakage from the piston rod and to prevent external dust from entering the cylinder. There is a guide sleeve on the end cover of the rod side to improve the guiding accuracy of the cylinder, accept a small amount of lateral load on the piston rod, reduce the downward bending when the piston rod extends, and extend the service life of the cylinder. The guide sleeve generally uses sintered oil containing alloy and forward leaning copper castings. In the past, malleable cast iron was commonly used for end caps. Now, in order to reduce weight and prevent rust, aluminum alloy die casting is often used, and brass materials are used for micro cylinders.
3、 Pistons
The piston is a pressurized component in a cylinder. To avoid mutual gas leakage between the left and right chambers of the piston, a piston sealing ring is installed. The wear-resistant ring on the piston can improve the directionality of the cylinder, reduce the wear of the piston sealing ring, and reduce frictional resistance. The wear-resistant ring is made of materials such as polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene, and synthetic resin. The width of the piston is determined by the size of the sealing ring and the necessary length of the sliding part. The sliding part is too short, which can easily cause early wear and jamming. The raw materials for pistons are commonly aluminum alloy and cast iron, while the pistons for small cylinders are made of brass.
4、 Piston rod
The piston rod is the main important load-bearing component in the cylinder. Generally, high carbon steel is used, and the surface is treated with hard chromium plating or stainless steel is used to prevent corrosion and improve the wear resistance of the sealing ring.
5、 Sealing ring
The sealing of components in rotating or reciprocating motion is called dynamic sealing, and the sealing of stationary parts is called static sealing.
There are several main methods for connecting the cylinder barrel and end cover:
Integral type, riveted type, threaded connection type, flange type, pull rod type.
6、 When the cylinder is working, it needs to rely on the oil mist in the compressed air to smooth the piston. There are also a small number of non smooth cylinders.
